Just like the title states, the author has broken down organization into one task each day of the year. Sometimes the tasks are things like thinking positive which I wasn't expecting but do agree sometimes those moments are needed to continue to be productive during the week. I like to break things down because I can feel productive but not overwhelmed. Many of the tasks are things that a person may put off cause its not horribly pressing but can possibly have a negative effect when not done like backing up the computer.It is an easy read and also each month has a theme. My biggest problem has been procrastination and breaking things down helps to motivate me into action. I think even if someone is pretty organized it doesn't hurt to read something like this because even that person may find there is something they should be incorporating more often into their routine. Organization that is often paired with time. Being organized saves time but trying to get organized from chaos takes time. The time factor can motivate and also deflate a person's drive. I think getting organized is worth the time and definitely one task a day is a good way to reach that goal.
I'm like everyone else, busy to the max, with little extra energy to accomplish huge projects all at once. So, hats off to you Marie Kondo fans, but I don't have 6 months of time to dedicate to big time purging. My goal this year is to organize my spaces, so that they work better for me. This book gives you one (mostly) simple thing to do every day. I can write that in my planner and accomplish that, at least to be moving forward on my goal. If something is too "big" for the time, or day, I just trade it out for another, so putting away Christmas things took place on a couple of days off and rethinking/looking at closet spaces for vertical unused space, took place on a Tuesday night after work. Small steps allow me to keep going and I don't burn out and end up with a bigger mess. This book is great for those of you like me, who long to be organized, but need baby steps because of limited time.
